Such a cool trip! Mutianyu is about 1.5 hours from the city, and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of the Wall to visit. It’s super easy to get around—you take a quick shuttle from the village, then either a cable car or chairlift up to the Wall. Both sides are awesome, with crazy good views. Definitely try to go early though, it can get pretty busy later. If you have time, walking both ways is totally worth it—takes a couple hours but the scenery’s insane.
After the Wall, we headed to Changling Tomb. Way less crowded, super chill, and the ancient buildings are massive. It’s really cool to see a different part of history after the climb.
Also, lots of spots in the village to grab a snack or some souvenirs. Overall, loved it—such a fun and easy way to see some of the best around Beijing!
