This tour covered a lot of ground and offered a diverse look at China’s history and culture. The first few days in Beijing were packed with iconic landmarks, including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. The Summer Palace and Beihai Park provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The journey to Datong was definitely a highlight – the Yungang Grottoes were a stunning sight, and the Huayang Monastery offered a peaceful atmosphere. Exploring Pingyao’s ancient town and walking along its city wall felt like stepping back in time. Xi’an was absolutely worth the visit, especially seeing the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors and wandering through the vibrant Muslim Quarter. The Tang Dynasty Nightless City show added a fantastic cultural touch.
The side trip to Luoyang was equally memorable, with breathtaking views at the Longmen Grottoes and a fascinating visit to the Shaolin Temple. The final leg of the trip in Shanghai was perfect – Yuyuan Garden was beautiful and serene, and the Bund offered amazing views of the city skyline, especially at night.
A huge thank you to Zoe for putting together such a well-organized itinerary and taking care of all the details! We also truly appreciated the wonderful service from all our local guides – they were knowledgeable, friendly, and really helped bring each place to life. This trip exceeded all our expectations and gave us memories we will cherish forever.
