I was looking for a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of Beijing, and this day trip to Jinshanling and Simatai was the perfect choice. The Wall here is much less crowded, which gave me time to really take in the sweeping views and ancient structure. My guide Sisi was fantastic—she knew all the right spots for photos and shared fascinating insights into the history of the Wall. We also had a skilled driver who made the journey feel effortless.
