For those who love a bit of adventure and history, the hike from Gubeikou to Jinshanling is one of the best ways to experience the Great Wall. This section is less crowded, which gives you a chance to fully appreciate the ancient structure and the incredible views. The hike was definitely challenging at times, especially between Gubeikou and Jinshanling, with steep inclines and uneven paths. But the sense of accomplishment at the top, coupled with the stunning scenery, made it all worthwhile. Our guide John was amazing, explaining the significance of both sections and sharing interesting stories along the way. If you're up for a challenging yet rewarding day, this hike is a must!
