I had a long layover in Beijing, and rather than sitting at the airport, I decided to book a tour to the Badaling Great Wall. It was the best decision! From the moment I stepped off the plane, my guide was waiting for me at arrivals, holding a sign with my name. The car was comfortable, and the drive to Badaling was smooth—thanks to our skilled driver, I didn’t have to worry about the traffic in Beijing.

The Great Wall at Badaling is truly breathtaking, and I had just enough time to explore it. My guide was fantastic—she not only explained the history of the Wall but also made sure I had plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the views. Although I only had a few hours, the experience felt so much longer due to how well-organized everything was. It was a perfect way to break up my layover and see one of China’s most iconic landmarks.
