Firstly, you will visit the famous Fragrant Hill Park, is located on the eastern sides of the
Western Hills, approximately 10 kilometers to the west of Beijing. The best time
to visit the park is late fall, when the smoke tree leaves turn red. The trees
make the grandest display of all. There are also groves of apricots, pears,
peaches and lilacs adding their fragrance, and the more solemn evergreens,
whose contribution to the local beauty is unrestricted by seasonal changes.
After lunch, you can clime up to the top for great view for about 40 min hiking or take cable car up to the top. Then you will visit WofoTemple ( the Temple of Recumbent Buddha), built during the reign of the Tang Dynasty (618 A.D. – 907 A.D.), with a history of more than 1300 years. It is famous for the bronze reclining Buddha inside the Temple, It is five meters long and weighs about 54 tons. The left hand of the statue touches his leg and his right hand is supporting his head. This was the pose of Sakyamuni when he had achieved nirvana.
