2 Days Mt. Huashan Hiking Tour from Beijing

D1 Beijing --Huashan

Make your own train arrangement to reach Huashan. Pick up service is arranged at Huashan train station, your guide will pick you up at the exit of Huashan train station with a welcome sign "Xian Private Tour". And head for Huashan Scenic Area by taxi (around 5 minutes). (By the way, if you want to travel from Xian/Beijing to Huashan, we can help you arrange the transfer service and train ticket, feel free to let us know if you have any requirement).

Upon on your arrival, you will start your Mt.Huashan Hiking Tour from Yuquan Temple. It is located on the foothill of Huashan mountain and is one of the famous Taoist temple, visitors visiting Mount Huashan would only have pass this temple from Huashan Valley. After visiting the temple, you need to walk about 20 mintues to the entrance of the Mt.Huashan and then leave for the Huixin Rock. It will be an easy walk from the entrance to the Huixin Rock, you will have a good opptunity to enjoy the charming scenery along the way.

When it comes to the Thousands Feet and the Bai Chi Gorge, Mount Hua begins to show its precipitousness so that you have to go sightseeing and climb carefully at the same time. It will take about 2 hours to reach the North Peak. (Cable car is also available to get to the North Peak, optional). The North Peak is around 1,615 meters, but it’s steep cliffs on either side make it look like a walkway through the heavens. One of the cliffs is called “Ear-Pressing Cliff,” named so because hikers can only ascend it by staying extremely close to the cliff- so close that it looks like they are pressing their ear to the rock.

Continue your hiking tour to the East Peak, it takes around 2.5 hours from North Peak to the East Peak. The East Peak is famous for the natural landscape, you can visit some attractions along this hiking route, such as the Heavenly Ladders, Riyue Cliff, Canglong Ling, Golden Lock Pass. The Immortal’s Palm Peak is visible from the East Peak.

After the sightseeing around the East Peak, you will be taken to your hotel on the top of Huashan Mountain.

D2 Huashan Departure

If the weather permits, highly recommend you get up early to enjoy the sunrise scenery of Huashan Mountain, there is a platform for the sunrise view. After breakfast, continue your hiking to the South Peak, it takes around 2 hours from East Peak. It will be an challenge hiking for this section, the Huashan Mountain Plank Walk is one of the highlights of this hiking route as lots of hiker lover want to experience when they travel to Huashan Mountain, it is the most dangerous part in Huashan Mountain. The plank walk with a history more than 700 years, you will find a wooden trail on the side off the mountain cliff when you reach at 2155m high. The trail will lead to a teahouse, it was a pilgrims way for nuns and monks to pray in the old times. Nowadays its possible to walk this trail along with many other visitors, and the scariest thing is that traffic goes both ways! It's known for its fatal falls. The total length of this plank walk is arond 50 meters, and it divided into 3 sections, the lower section is the most dangerous.

Next, you will have about 30 mins downhill hiking to the Middle Peak, it is a easy and leisure hiking for most traveller. When you arrive at Middle Peak, you will have chance to visit many Taoist Temples, Huashan Mountain is one of the holy land of Taoism and attracts tens of thousands of Taoist Monks and Nuns come here for praying. Then, head to West Peak for the Cable car go down the mountain. Transfer back to Xian downtown hotel or drop off at Huashan train station for your next destination.
