Firstly, you will walk or take taxi to the closest subway station (at your own expense). Our guide will lead you to take subway to Tiananmen Square, which is now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Square is
the geographical center of Beijing City. It is the largest city square
in the world, occupying an area of 440,000 square meters (about 109
acres), and able to accommodate 1,000,000 people at one time. Tiananmen
Gate on the northern square was the site where the Chairman Mao
announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China.
Later, follow the gate near the Tiananmen Square to visit the Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, shares the honor of being
one of five world-famous palaces with the Palace of Versailles in
France, Buckingham Palace in England, the White House in the U.S. and
the Kremlin in Russia. The incomparable palace occupies an area of
720,000 square meters (177.9 acres) and has approximately 8,700 rooms. A
high red wall with a total length of 3,400 meters (3,718 yards) encases
the palace. The palace, the most magnificent and splendid palace
complex in China, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Building in
1987.
After lunch, take subway to visit the Beihai Park. This park is a good example of a classic Yuan dynasty imperial garden
and has the benefit of being good to visit in all seasons. is a public park and former imperial garden located in the northwestern part of the Imperial City, Beijing. First built in the 11th century, it is among the largest of all Chinese Garden and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces, and
temples. Since 1925, the place has been open to the public as a park. It
is also connected at its northern end to the Shichahai.
Next, take subway to visit the Nanluoguxiang Hutong. It is the most popular and one of the oldest Hutongs in Beijing with a history of more than 740 years. It looks like a fish bone with a 787m main street (Nanluoguxiang) in the middle and 8 smaller Hutongs on both sides. Here is not only a paradise for foodies and people with curiosity, but also a good place to appreciate Beijing traditional quadrangle courtyard.
After the tour, take subway or taxi back to your hotel in Beijing.
