His contributions have left an indelible mark on 20th-century Chinese literature. The residence, located in the heart of Beijing, offers a glimpse into Lao She’s life and creative world. As you explore this historic home, you'll encounter exhibits showcasing his personal belongings, manuscripts, and photos, immersing you in the environment that inspired some of his most celebrated works. Next, we will explore the Memorial of Mei Lanfang, also known as the Former Residence of Mei Lanfang. Mei Lanfang (1894 - 1961) is celebrated as one of the most renowned masters of Beijing Opera. A distinguished singer, actor, and dancer, he was especially known for his portrayal of the Qing Yi, a female role in Beijing Opera, and played a pivotal role in the development of Chinese theater. The memorial is set in a traditional Beijing residential compound, covering 716 square meters. As you visit, you'll gain insight into the life and artistry of Mei Lanfang, experiencing the ambiance of a typical Beijing home while appreciating the legacy of a theatrical legend.

After lunch, we will proceed to the Former Residence of Guo Moruo (1892-1978). Guo Moruo was a distinguished Chinese writer, poet, playwright, historian, archaeologist, and expert in ancient scripts, as well as a prominent social activist. Located at No. 18 West Qianhai Street in Beijing, this historic residence was once a garden owned by He Shen, a powerful official during the Qing Dynasty. The site offers a glimpse into the life of Guo Moruo, showcasing a blend of traditional Chinese architectural elements and historical artifacts. The residence, with its serene courtyards and classic design, reflects both the elegance of its Qing Dynasty origins and the cultural significance of one of modern China's most influential literary figures.

The final stop on our tour is the Former Residence of Song Qing Ling (1890-1981). Song Qing Ling, the wife of Sun Yat-sen, was a revered figure in Chinese history, serving as the Honorary Chairman of the People's Republic of China. Often referred to as "the Mother of China" by both the Kuomintang and Communist parties, her residence is a testament to her enduring legacy. Covering an expansive area of 17,000 square meters, the estate is a picturesque retreat featuring lush gardens, elegant pavilions, and charming buildings. The tranquil environment and poetic ambiance reflect Soong Ching Ling's significant contributions to modern China and her enduring influence.
