Water from Rear Lake has been diverted through an underground channel into a stream that winds its way through the garden. This lovely Beijing garden is elegantly laid out with rockeries and ponds set off by pines, cypresses and flowers. Winding corridors links traditional-style halls and pavilions in the garden. The tasteful layout gives the garden an atmosphere of elegant antiquity.

The final stop of your tour is the Beijing Lu Xun Museum, situated on Xiertiao, Fuchengmennei Street. Established as the earliest "Autobiographic Literature Museum" following the founding of the People's Republic of China, it originally served as Lu Xun's former residence at Xishantiao. Opened to the public on October 19, 1956, the museum commemorates the 20th anniversary of Lu Xun's passing. In 1994, an impressive new exhibition hall in ancient quad style was added adjacent to the former residence, preserving and showcasing the legacy of Lu Xun, one of China's most influential writers and intellectuals of the 20th century.
