Qinglong Gorge boasts a rich history and a consistently pleasant climate year-round. Nestled in a mountainous region, its unique geography ensures crystal-clear waters meandering around breathtaking peaks and steep cliffs, creating a distinctive climate characterized by frequent winds and ample rainfall, with an annual precipitation of about 800mm. The gorge is centered around a reservoir that divides it into four distinct areas: south, north, west, and east.The southern part of the gorge is ideal for bamboo rafting and hand rowing, with water depths carefully controlled to maintain a serene environment, typically less than 1 meter deep. In contrast, the northern section features deeper waters, ranging from 40 to 50 meters, accommodating large-scale motor boats such as dragon boats, painting boats, and speedboats. During the summer months, this area also offers beach bathing facilities for visitors to enjoy.
The first thing for today is Mountain climbing, it will take around 2-3 hours and do some other sports on the way. Qinglong Gorge is located 20
kilometers northwest of Huairou, the so-called "black dragon" valley is home to
a reservoir spanning 55.6 km2, part of which is open to tourists for boating and
yachting. Besides that, the mountain has a wild section of the Great Wall that
has not been renovated. The hills here are not as steep as Longqing Gorge, while
unique views of the Great Wall add much appeal. It is best to take a cable car
up the mountains, explore by foot, and then walk down. Visitors can either paddle on bamboo rafts and boats in the one
meter deep southern part of the reservoir, or cruise on a boat in the northern
part, where the waters run 40 to 50 meters deep. The apex of the gorge is called
the Platform of the Jade Emperor and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding
areas.
After lunch, continue your journey to Qinglong lake. The Qinglong Lake Water Amusement Park with a water surface area of 4,000 hectares (659 acres), it has the largest bathing beach in Beijing where 10,000 people can bath and play. Thus, it enjoys the fame of 'Little Coast in Beijing'. The lake was once a reservoir and developed as a tourist resort in 1995. Nowadays, it has become a large comprehensive area dedicated to entertainment, body-building, leisure and sightseeing. The lake is like a valuable sapphire embedded in the area. When the lake is calm and weather is fine, the blue sky, white clouds, trees and hills are reflected in the large mirror, forming a stunning picture. When a breeze blows, the waves ripple as if a naughty girl winks. The lake sparks in the brilliant sunlight and the distant hill looks like an overlapping landscape.
