Juma River Rafting
The Juma River, a pristine waterway in Beijing's suburbs, is home to the renowned "Shidu," often referred to as the "Little Guilin of the North." Bamboo rafting on the rivers of Shidu is a popular water activity, offering a taste of southern water life in northern China. Although traditionally a cherished activity, all water-based projects, including bamboo rafting, were suspended starting early 2019 to protect the river environment and optimize water resources.
Bungee Jumping
The Shidu Scenic Area is home to China’s first bungee jumping site, established in May 1997 on the cliff of Jiu Crossing Qilin Mountain. The original platform offered jumps from a height of 48 meters, with a 24-meter free fall. In April 1998, a new platform was added at 55 meters high, with a 26-meter drop. As of July 2015, the cost is 260 RMB per jump.
