Tian'anmen Square is located in the center of Beijing, and the south end of the Forbidden City. It faces Tiananmen Square, the monument to the people's heroes, Chairman Mao's memorial hall, the China National Museum across Chang'an Street.
Tian'anmen was built in the Ming Dynasty (1417) and completed in 1420. At first, it was only a wooden archway named Chengtianmen gate. In 1457, Tiananmen Square was destroyed by thunder and fire, and rebuilt in 1465. Since then, it has been destroyed many times due to war. 1651 was rebuilt as a city tower and its name was changed to "Tian'anmen".
The flag raising ceremony is sacred, it happens every day, regardless of wind or rain. It should be noted that the daily time of raising (lowering) the national flag is subject to the rising and falling time of the sun in Beijing provided by the Beijing Observatory, and the time will be slightly adjusted.

By Bus: Take bus No. 120, No. 52, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 1, No. 2, No. Or, take No.1, No.5, No.52, No.99, No.1 sightseeing bus, No.1 night bus, No.2 bus and get off at "Tiananmen West" and walk about 1000 meters from the Meridian Gate.
By Metro: Take Metro Line 1 and get off at "Tiananmen east" station.
Tian'anmen Square is located in the center of Beijing. It is 880 meters long from north to south, 500 meters wide from east to west, with a total area of 440000 square meters. It can accommodate 1 million people at the same time. It is the largest city square in the world at present.
In the center of the square stands the monument to the people's heroes and the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao. On the west side of the square is the Great Hall of the people, on the east side is the National Museum, and on the south side are two ancient city towers, Zhengyangmen gate and Qianmen archery tower, which were built in the 14th century.
There are the China National Museum, Labor People's Cultural Palace, Zhongshan Park, The Great Hall of the people, and the National Grand Theater near the Tian'anmen Square.
