Simatai Great Wall is located in Gubeikou town in the north of Miyun District, Beijing, close to Gubei Water Town, 120 kilometers away from Beijing.

By car/taxi
Drive to Jingcheng Expressway and get to Simatai exit 2km away.

By Bus
1)Take bus No. 980 at Dongzhimen bus hub, get off at Miyunxi Bridge station, and transfer to No. 51 to Gubei Water Town.

2)Direct bus: take bus No.942 and No.855 in the north of Dongzhimen hub station. It is expected to go to Gubei Water Town in 120 minutes, then transfer to Simatai Great Wall. Ticket price: CNY 48/person for one way.

In 2012, the great wall of Simatai was rated as "The top 25 sceneries not to be missed in the world" by the times. Although it is 120 kilometers away from the downtown area of Beijing, it is one of the scenic spots that Beijing should never miss. It is the only ancient Great Wall in China that has always kept its original appearance.

1) Simatai Great Wall and Gubei water town are connected, many tourists choose to buy direct tickets to visit these two places at the same time. If you want to play like this, you no need to book tickets for Simatai Great Wall in advance.

2) If you are not interested in Gubei water town and just want to visit Simatai Great Wall, you must book a ticket one day in advance.

The scenic hike from Jinshanling to the west section of Simatai Great Wall  is favored by many Great Wall hikers. Unfortunately, now the stretch from Jinshanling to Simatai is still unopened mainly due to the closure of the west section of Simatai Great Wall.

It was ranked first in the list of the 'World's Top 25 Scenic Spots' by the Times newspaper in 2012. Simatai Great Wall is the only great wall open at night, which can definitely bring you unparalleled experience.

The best time to visit Simatai Great Wall is April, May, September, or October. The weather is very comfortable for visitors. With lush plants covering the mountain, the winding wall looks like a dragon lying on a green sea. In October, red leaves cover the all over the ridge, which is very fantastic.

Simatai Great Wall is located in Miyun County, 120km northeast of Beijing’s city center. In Miyun County, you can also visit Changyu Chateau Beijing, Yumenshan Great Wall , Gubeikou Great Wall as well as Jinshanling Great Wall.

Visitors need to go to the official website of Simatai Great Wall to reserve a ticket. Tickets must be reserved at least one day and a maximum of ten days in advance.
