Introduction
The Olympic Forest Park is a large, man-made nature park situated at the north end of the Olympic Green in Beijing. Built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the park has two parts: the southern part is oval in shape and features lake Wa Biancun in the center, and the northern side has a mountain that gives an excellent view of this part of the city. The northern part is outside of the 5th Ring Road. The park was designed by Hu Jie.

The park features many walking paths and a jogging path. Several small islands in the lake are linked by bridges. The south-east end of the lake has a handful of carnival rides for children.

The South Gate of Forest Park Station of the Beijing Subway is located at the south entrance to the park.

Structure
It was built the for 2008 Beijing Olympics games. The north side of the lake has a mountain that gives an excellent view of this part of the city. The park features many walking paths and a jogging path. Several small islands in the lake are linked by bridges. The south-east end of the lake has a handful of carnival rides for children.

Sceneries in Olympic Forest Park
1. Tianjing
Tianjing is designed as the most suitable place to view the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. It is located on Yangshan Summit. On Tianjing, there is a 5.7 meters high, 63 tons landscape stone which was transported from Tai Mountain. Surround the main mountain of the Forest Park, there are 29 Chinese Pines which means the 29th Olympic Games. The two platforms Zhaohua and Xishi are on the east and west side of Tianjing. Standing on the platforms, you can have a bird's view of the main lake in the Forest Park and landscapes of the central Olympic Park.

2. Artificial Wetland
The most attractive landscape should be the artificial wetland in the park. Guided by the large areas of reeds, cattails, ball spike Sedge, Iris and canna, you fan find the the wetland. Walking on the wetland along the bridge for about 500 meters, you can get to the underwater sank gallery.

6. Forest Theatre
On the southeast side of the Forest Theatre, there is a little square of about 4,000 square meters. There are stone audience seats with tall trees and flowers around.

Present condition
Olympic Forest Park is a Eco forest. It is the green lung of the Capital Beijing. Those plant species and biomes suitable for natural climatic conditions in northern area form the local biomes in Beijing. They create and provide a habitat for lots of creatures especially the birds to maintain the ecological balance of nature and improve urban ecological carrying capacity.

This Eco Forest slows the effect of urban heat island. It helps to filter and clean the air of the city.
