Maojingba National Forest Park is located in Longhua County, northeast of Chengde City, bordering Chifeng City of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It covers an area of 19,400 hectares, of which 87% is covered by forest. This vast royal hunting ground 300 years ago is one of the areas in North China that have the richest variety of flora and fauna and is the source of Wulie River, the mother river of Chengde City.

In autumn, Maojingba is incredibly charming that will overwhelm you in a world with blazing colors wherever you are on mountain ridges or in the gorges. Image this, surrounded by bizarre colorful peaks and silky rolling ridges, maple trees are in crimson, looking gorgeous together with romantic white-and-yellow birch groves, under which purple wild mountain flowers are in full bloom and a babbling stream is running forward tirelessly. Such a picture is just like a bottle of aged wine that gets you drunk.

Driving guide: start from Beijing and drive along with Beijing-Chengde Expressway, then transfer

to Chengde-Weichang and Chengde-Chifeng Expressways to Maojingba, totaling 350 km.
